MusicI sing light, contemporary songs that have been made popular in the Christian community. I have a fairly large repertoire and can choose songs appropriate to your sermon themes and other events, and can provide you with the words to the songs. I have my own sound equipment that I bring, as well as accompaniment tracks. In May of 2009, after singing more than 15 years with The Cantabilé Singers and various other musical groups, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor found wrapped around my left hearing and facial nerves. Faced with the possibility of not being able to sing again, I kicked off what I thought might be a temporary and final solo tour during the three months prior to my surgery scheduled in August. The surgery successfully removed the tumor and, while it unfortunately left me deaf in one ear, I found that singing was still possible. Because of God’s love and grace, I decided to continue my solo singing career that I thought might end with the surgery. With a new love for proclaiming God’s Word through contemporary Christian songs, I currently sing in churches in the Twin Cities and beyond, as well as in nursing homes near my hometown of Bloomington. I have also recorded my first solo CD, which has been available since September 2011! Please contact me at juliec-creative@earthlink.net if you are interested in purchasing. Here are some examples of songs I am singing now. You can click to hear how I am managing singing with hearing in just one ear:
Jesus Paid It All (Fernando Ortega) I also have a faith-walk concert I would love to share with your congregation some evening, or possibly during a Bible class. Click here to see my outline of the story I have to share.
